Dr. Susan Lapointe, DVM
Susan Lapointe grew up in Edmonton, Alberta and enjoyed the cats, dogs and horses that were always a part of her family. She graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon in 1989 with distinction. Since graduation, Susan has been a part of the team at Lessard Callingwood Veterinary Hospital and loves both the medical and surgery aspect of her career. She, her husband and two daughters, take care of Sadie, a collie-shepherd mix they adopted from a rescue group, along with their three cats: Zoey, Zack, and Charlie.

Dr. Jane Noble, BSc (Agro), DVM
For as long as she can remember, Jane wanted to be a veterinarian. Born and raised in Vancouver, BC, Jane started working in a small animal veterinary hospital when she was 16 and never looked back. She pursued a bachelor’s degree in Agroecology through the faculty of Agriculture at UBC, graduating with honors in 2004. From there, she headed to the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, in Saskatoon. She graduated with distinction in 2008.
Jane has been part of the Lessard team since 2010. After graduating veterinary school, she worked in a mixed animal practice for the first year and a half, before deciding to focus on cats and dogs. While she loves working with both, she has a special interest in feline medicine, especially feline behaviour.
She shares her home with her husband and two kids.

Dr. Chantelle Phillips, BSc (Science), DVM
Chantelle Phillips was raised on an acreage in nearby Leduc, Alberta. Her desire to work with animals started at an early age and in 2009, she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Alberta with a focus on animal care. Pursuit of her veterinary career took her to the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, where she obtained her degree in 2015. After graduating, Dr. Phillips returned to Edmonton to practice and joined our team at Lessard Callingwood Veterinary Hospital in 2015.
Dr. Phillips spends her free time hiking and travelling with her husband or snuggling and reading with her cat, Zizou.

Dr. Lauren MacDonald, DVM
Lauren MacDonald grew up in the Lessard neighborhood of Edmonton. In fact, her pets have always come to Lessard Callingwood Veterinary Hospital! As a university student, she gained valuable work experience at Lessard Callingwood Veterinary Hospital After three years of undergraduate studies at the University of Alberta, Dr. MacDonald was accepted to the Western College of Veterinary Medicine. She graduated with honors in 2005. After a summer working mixed animal practice and a six month period of travelling and working in New Zealand, she was thrilled to be able to return to Lessard Callingwood Vet as a veterinarian in 2006.
Dr. MacDonald lives with her husband and two daughters. She enjoys spending time with her family, running, cooking, yoga and riding horses.

Christa Olenick was born and raised in Regina, SK. She knew she wanted to become a veterinarian at a young age and started working in a veterinary hospital at 15 years old. She attended university in Saskatoon and after completing two years in Arts and Science she was accepted into Western College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated with honors in 1998. After graduating, she completed an internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at the WCVM, and then moved to Edmonton to enter private small animal practice. Dr. Olenick joined the team at Lessard Callingwood Veterinary Hospital in 2000.
She enjoys spending her free time with her husband and two kids camping, boating, skiing, snowmobiling, and watching her kids’ soccer games. Her family also includes her dog Ginger, her cat Bucket, her gecko Echo, and multiple fish and snails in her several fish tanks.

Lynette, RVT
Lynette graduated from NAIT’s Animal Health Technologist program in 2003 and has been part of the Lessard Callingwood Veterinary team ever since. Her interests are dental procedures and collecting blood samples. In her free time, she enjoys camping, slow pitch, hiking, and skating, especially with her daughter and husband. She loves all animals with unconventional beauty (smooshy faces). |
Sarah, RVT
Sarah graduated from NAIT in 2008 and has been an RVT ever since. Sarah loves all things feline! Her favorite parts of the job are lab work, patient care and client education. She has two kitties at home, Christopher (16 years) and Ratchet (2 years). Sarah enjoys gardening and spending time with her family. |
Natalie, RVT
Natalie graduated from Lakeland’s Animal Health Technologist program in April 2020. Since completing the program, Natalie has learnt she loves working in a mixed animal practice and that dentals are her favorite thing to perform. She also loves horseback riding and owns a horse named Neville. She has two cats, Rusty and Gerry! |
Catelyn, RVT
Catelyn graduated from Lakeland's Animal Health Technologist program in 2022. She has been with the Lessard Callingwood Veterinary team since April 2023. Her interests are in animal dentistry and lab work. In her free time she enjoys swimming, camping, and playing guitar. She has a sweet cat named Drip. |
Ash, RVT
Ash grew up in Kamloops, BC, before moving to Fort McMurray, where she graduated high school. After graduating, she moved to Edmonton and completed her Associate of Science degree through Penn Foster College to become a Veterinary Technologist in 2024. She has a special interest in exotic species and her favourite part of the job is learning something new everyday. Ash’s family includes 4 cats (Dante, Jasper, Merlin, and Mia) and a very nice ball python named Calcifer. |
Taylor, RVT
Taylor has completed the Animal health technology program at NAIT this year and is one of our newest RVT's. At home she has an Australian Shepherd named Rex, a Husky Border Collie mix named Koda, and also two cats, Boots and Rascal. She loves camping in the summer with her friends, family and fur babies, and snowboarding in the winter. |
Jade, RVT
Jade graduated from NAIT in 2018 and has been a RVT at Lessard Callingwood since then. Jade is passionate about pet nutrition and loves working with owners on pet weight loss programs. She has two cats at home, Marvel (tortoiseshell) and Prince Zuko (orange/white). |
Sierra, Client Services
Sierra started working in veterinary medicine in 2021. She loves greeting the patients and giving them treats! She has 2 giant Great Danes named Rune and Talos that she and her partner share their home with. She like camping and hiking in her free time. |
Simmone, Client Services
Simmone started working in Veterinary Medicine in 2019. She has owned a variety of animals over the years including Hedgehogs, rabbits, birds, sheep, horses, fish and reptiles. She currently has a 10 year old Shepherd lab cross named Marshall and a Savannah cat named Matteo, a Bengal named Bronte, and British Shorthair named Eleanor Dean. In her spare time Simmone enjoys hiking, golfing, reading, snuggling with her cats and travelling. |
Janelle, Client Services
Janelle started working in the veterinary industry as a receptionist in 2004 and has been with Lessard Callingwood Veterinary Hospital since 2006. She loves working with clients and their furry companions. Lots of our patients know her quite well and that she is generous with the treats! Janelle is married with two adult children and four grandchildren. She shares her home with 3 cats and an amazing dog named Jude. |
Zelda, VMA
Zelda graduated from the NAIT Veterinary Medical Assistant program in 2023. She’s always loved animals, especially large, goofy dogs. Her interest in veterinary medicine came from taking care of her own problem child, Charlie (a big German shepherd). She loves fitness, the mountains and spending time with family. |
Nina, Student
Nina is currently completing her BSc in animal health at the University of Alberta. From a young age she has been interested in animal rehabilitation, conservation and welfare. She has gained animal handling experience through volunteering at WildNorth and various livestock farm before joining the team as a Tech Assistant in 2022. Some of her hobbies include training her dog and lovebird to do tricks, baking, volleyball and Soccer. |
